Every Wednesday we do our reportorial thing, submitting to the Tico Times, a national English -language newspaper, a short report of events at Lake Arenal. The reports appear on the Community Connections page of the Weekender section of the Tico Times. We post them to the website on deadline day, so they appear online 10 days before appearing in the Tico Times.)
Arenal Report for Tico Times December 20 2006
Aspiring sausage king David Glass, an experienced Arenal rancher, is now making a variety of sausages, which he is selling through the new meat market in Tilaran, Carniceria La Unica, which is across the street from ICE near the cow mural. Spreading the word to meat-lovers around the lake, David not only rattled off the names of seven or eight types of sausage - including German sausages and breakfast sausage - but added that he can make any kind you'd like. Just ask for David's Sausage at the carniceria. To order your

special favorite, call him at 695-5810.

La Tejona, the open air restaurant on the road between Tilaran and the lake, has for some time been notable as a place for good food and a great sunset view, and now these benefits come wind-free. Just installed are huge glass windows on the lake side of the restaurant, the side from which the winds come rushing through the pass. Your evening's choice of restaurant need no longer be restricted by wind velocities.
