| Cañas, sitting beside the InterAmerican Highway, is the western gateway to Lake Arenal. It is about one hour south of Liberia International Airport and about three hours from the the country's main airport near San Jose. The critical but easy reference point in Cañas is the bull ring, which is right beside the highway. Turn toward the eastern mountains on the street just north of the bull ring. That street takes one directly onto the road to Lake Arenal. Just bear left at the "T." It is then about 13 miles to Tilaran. From Tilaran it is about 4 miles to the intersection of the roads that go north or south around the lake. From that intersection, it is 1.4 miles south to Casa Mañana. | ||
