| These photos were taken at Nosara, which, from San Jose or from Casa Manana, is best reached by taking the Taiwan Friendship Bridge at the top of the Gulf of Nicoya to the city of Nicoya and then proceeding to a certain point on the paved highway to Playa Samara. Nicoya is just below Parque Ostional, a reserve for egg-laying turtles. There are guided night tours to observe the turtles at Ostional. Closer beaches (about two hours) are at Playas Cocos, Hermosa, and Papaguayp. | |
